"Tie beam and ceiling patterns"

Interior photographs of and in the Qubbat al-Sakhra (Dome of the Rock), Masjid al-Aqsa, Haram al-Sharif, Jerusalem.

View up the side of one of the piers of the octagonal arcade, looking at one of the fine gilt and painted hammered brass panels which clad the underside of the tie beams. Also evident is the ornate Corinthian entablature gracing the inside face of these tie beams. A snippet of the mosaics are evident above the entablature in the lower center. Along the bottom is the carved and gilt marble frieze of an arcade with vegetal designs, some of which mimic the mosaic patterns.
